Standard polymer lenses 1.50 and 1.56 are ideal for low diopters, while high-index lenses 1.61 and 1.67 provide thinness and aesthetics for diopters of ±4 and above. For protection against ultraviolet rays, photochromic (chameleon) lenses are recommended, which automatically darken in the sun.
